The City of Orem is inviting bids for all labor, tools, equipment, and expenses to provide r the application of a seal coat at various city owned parking areas. The parking lot areas include approximately 21,200 square feet at the Shooting Range (Cascade Drive Orem Bench Trail), approximately 2,000 square feet at Cherry Hill Park (1800 South 250 East), approximately 14,800 square feet at Springwater Park (920 S Artesian Road), approximately 67,900 square feet at Community Park (600 West 200 South), approximately 11,900 square feet at Northridge Park (1750 North 175 East), approximately 10,400 square feet at Sharon Park (1240 East 1000 North), approximately 19,100 square feet at Windsor Park South (150 West 1250 North), approximately 9,500 square feet at Windsor Park West (200 West 1250 North), and approximately 339,000 square feet at the Wastewater Treatment Plant (1000 South 1790 West). See the attached area maps for locations of each parking area in Orem City. The total project area is approximately 495,800 SF. Contractor will be required to restore all parking lot striping to match existing. Two coats of paint required for all striping (include as a separate cost). Contractor will be required to remove all weeds, dirt, debris, brush off and clean all asphalt areas prior to application of new seal coat. Application of the seal coat will only be allowed when pavement and air temperature is 55°F and rising. Do not apply within 24 hours of forecasted rain or in wet weather conditions. Contractor is required to complete this project before August 31, 2019. The application rate will be 30 square feet per gallon for a two coat application. Seal coat costs will be per square foot, contractor to include all traffic control costs in this price. Contractor is required to squeegee the first seal coat application. The application method for the second coat will be determined by the contractor. All proposals must include a seal coat specification that the contractor will be using for this project. Red curbing and thermoplastic heat tape is not required as part of this proposal. Contractor is required to coordinate work with city staff, treatment plant operator, parks section manager, etc. to work around any public events. Contractor is required to provide payment and performance bonds with notice of award.
