The City of Hickory is soliciting proposals for the services of a firm/team for the contract scope of work which include complete design drawings and bid package for the project, along with all plats and documents required for right of way acquisition for the following: 1. Preliminary Engineering and Design of a multi-use path along Main Avenue NW from 9th Street NW to 11th Street NW and then along 11th Street NW to Old Lenoir Road. The project starts at the intersection of Main Avenue NW and 9 th Street NW and proceeds west along Main Avenue NW to 11th Street NW, then north along 11th Street NW to the intersection of 11th Street NW and Old Lenoir Road. The project is approximately 0.9 miles in length and is a critical part of the 2018 BUILD Grant “Hickory Reconnected Through Transportation Infrastructure Investment”. Project work elements and services includes but not limited to; utility relocation and coordination, design for railroad crossings, preparation of right of way maps, preparation of construction contract proposal and estimates. NEPA documentation and compliance must be acquired. 2. Preliminary Engineering and Design of a multi-use path from Old Lenoir Road along Clement Blvd to US 321 including a Bike/Ped Bridge over US 321 to 13th Avenue Drive NW. From there, it continues along 19th Street Lane NW, and Clement Boulevard to the Hickory Regional Airport. The project starts at the intersection of Old Lenoir Road and Clement Boulevard and proceeds west along Clement Boulevard to US 321, then north along US 321 to City-owned property. A Bike/Ped bridge will be constructed over US 321. The the trail will then follow 13th Avenue Drive NW to 19th Street Lane NW to Clement Boulevard, then west along Clement Boulevard to the Hickory Regional Airport. The project is approximately 1.7 miles in length and is a critical part of the 2018 BUILD Grant “Hickory Reconnected Through Transportation Infrastructure Investment”. Project work elements and services includes but not limited to; structure design, utility relocation and coordination, design for railroad crossings, preparation of right of way maps, preparation of construction contract proposal and estimates. NEPA documentation and compliance must be acquired.
