The project includes water, sanitary sewer, and storm drain improvements in Bechelli Lane and adjacent streets. Water improvements include replacement of approximately 14,000 linear feet water mains with new polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and ductile iron pipe ranging from 6-inch to 12-inch diameter. In general, water mains will be relocated and the existing mains will be abandoned in place. Water services and fire hydrants in the project area will also be replaced. Sanitary sewer improvements include replacement of approximately 10,000 lineal feet of sanitary sewer mains by pipe bursting and open trench methods with new high density polyethylene (HDPE) and PVC mains ranging from 8-inch to 15-inch diameter. Active sewer laterals will be replaced to near the right-of-way boundary, where new lateral cleanouts will be installed. Parallel sewer mains and associated manholes in Bechelli lane will be abandoned in place. Existing sanitary sewer manholes to remain operational will be rehabilitated by epoxy lining or replaced. The project will also include installation of approximately 1,000 linear feet of new 18-inch to 36-inch storm drain piping, along with new storm drain manholes, catch basins, and area drains. 275 working days
