The NC State campus between Western Boulevard and Hillsborough Street has an aging underground electrical distribution system with components that have exceeded their useful life. The campus electrical infrastructure master plan will replace the aging infrastructure and install a new mainline loop configuration system to improve resiliency, capacity, and safety. The overall master plan is currently divided into 10 phases with Phase 1 almost complete. This specific project is to complete Phase 2 construction of a 15kV distribution system to include installation of new underground ductbank, cables, manholes, and switchgear for the electrical infrastructure improvements in the central precinct of campus from Wolf Village, along Western Blvd, to the intersection of Sullivan Drive and Dan Allen Drive.
