This RFP is the process for selecting a CMAR firm for this Project to o renovate 6,800 sf in the historic 1910 Department of Physics building in the core of the Texas A&M campus. The space will be built out as a lab and small animal vivarium for research in the Department of Psychology. Work includes selective demolition of some areas of the structure to prepare for new plumbing and mechanical systems including routing of new exhaust ducts in the upper floors and roof of the building. Slab repair is limited to the disturbed areas for the new sanitary lines. All new partitions, doors, trim and finishes are required, including sanitary finishes in the vivarium. New equipment including lab casework, hoods, biosafety cabinets and ventilated cage racks are to be included. Mechanical systems will be completely new and include new air handlers, ducting and valves, new lab exhaust system and supporting hydronic piping as well as all plumbing for water sewerage and lab gases. Electrical distribution will be done from the existing panel room and include all power, lighting and IT systems. HSP required. Bonds required. Prevailing wages apply.
