The Project will replace two hydroelectric generators that have exceeded their service life. The Powerhouse has two outdoor, vertical shaft, hydraulic impulse turbine driven generators built by Allgemeine Elektricitats Gesellschaft (AEG). SFPUC installed both units in 1969, and each generator is rated 50 MVA, 13.8 kV, three-phase, 60 Hz, 0.9 power factor, 300 RPM (24 Poles), 330 field volts. The existing generators have been in continuous service for forty years. SFPUC re-wedged the existing generators in 1989 but has never rewound or upgraded them.Prevailing wages. Bonds required. Q&A due by 12/20/19.
