Design/Build Services For Replacement Of Tower Elevators Project, New York NY

The requirements of this Design-Build project include, but are not limited to, the following: A) replace and modernize two (2) tower elevator systems to include elevator cabs and lighting, shaft ways and landings, and new enclosures for elevator shafts; B) replace exterior handles that operate the disconnects in the Motor Control Center (MCC) and linkage mechanisms; C) replace four (4) fully seated limit switches and associated cables and conduits; D) adjust two (2) centering devices; E) replace two (2) span navigation lights; F) abate, clean and paint eight (8) main sheaves and existing machinery support bases; G) replace all steel floor gratings (catwalks) in sheave rooms; H) replace all catwalks and supports in each elevator skeleton; I) install removable stairs and catwalks above two (2) middle trunnion bearings (two (2) removable stairs and catwalks per tower); J) replace four (4) span locks, span lock receivers and associated cables and conduits; K) replace damaged/bent barrier gate guide rails; L) rehabilitate or replace crane in machinery rooms; M) increase the size of the access hatch in front of the elevator at the top level leading to the counterweight catwalk; N) replace all auxiliary counterweight guides and rails; O) perform incidental painting; P) maintain full ladder access to each tower at all times; Q) remove and dispose all hazardous materials to include asbestos, lead based paints and caulking materials on both the elevator and tower pedestals; R) maintain the two (2) existing elevators during construction.
