The purpose of this project is to drill two exploratory borings and provide the City of Santa Monica (herein designated as the “City”) with one replacement municipal-supply water production well. The proposed replacement water well (to be known as Well SM-9) is to be used for general water supply and has a targeted operational production rate of 500-600 gallons per minute (gpm). In addition, this project is to provide the City with a new injection well. The proposed injection well (to be known as Well SM-10i) is to be used for injecting water into selected aquifers and has a targeted operational injection rate of 400 gpm. Earth materials beneath the SM-10i well site might be capable of accommodating injection rates in excess of 400 gpm, but further testing is required to validate such values. The proposed locations of the two exploratory borings are shown in Appendix A, Figures A1 and A2, “Proposed Well Location” for Well SM-9 and Well SM-10i, respectively. Both exploratory borings shall also act as the pilot holes of the two new wells. Hence, the locations of the exploratory borings are shown on Figures A1 and A2 as Well SM-9 and Well SM-10i.Bonds required. Q&A due by 07/03/19 at 5PM.
