This project involves the related services for changing out approximately 20,000 small water meters (at a rate of 10,000 annually). The Contractor will provide complete water meter changeout services to support water service distribution, and meter reading and billing services. The Contractor shall install 3/4-inch meter assemblies and backflow prevention devices, where so directed, by either (1) simple replacement, (2) replacement using a meter setter / resetter assembly with integral backflow prevention device, or (3) replacement by cut-in method with backflow prevention device in series with meter and reconnection to existing customer service. In conjunction with a meter changeout, the meter box shall be reset, relocated, or replaced as necessary. This project encouraged MBE/WBE participation.
