The work covered by this specification includes the design, testing, construction, and quality control required for the proper application of micro-surfacing and slurry seal treatment services. • Micro-Surfacing This application is used to give maximum skid resistance and an improved wearing surface. An example would be on pavements which have high traffic volume. Rate of application: 25 to 28 pounds per square yard of dry aggregate minimum. • Slurry Seal TYPE IIA: This application is used to give maximum skid resistance and an improved wearing surface. An example would be on pavements which have a highly textured surface and require this size aggregate to fill in the voids and provides an improved wearing surface. Rate of application: 15 to 18 pounds per square yard of dry aggregate minimum. Bonds required. Prevailing wages apply.
