Green River Natural Resource Area South Stormwater Pump Station Project, Kent WA

King County

Owner Reference: 17-3012

Bid Date: 11/08/2019 at 10:45am

Estimate: $3.8M - $4.2M

The project consists of installing a stormwater pump station northwest of the intersection of West James Street and 64th Avenue South to mitigate flooding issues and direct discharge to the Green River. The pump station will include two vertical turbine pumps with 200-horsepower motors, a precast concrete wet well, a flow meter vault, and 24-inch diameter ductile iron discharge piping and valves connecting to an existing 30-inch diameter HDPE force main. The aboveground pumping equipment will be covered by a shelter structure. The station will include electrical/instrumentation/control equipment and a standby diesel generator set covered by a separate shelter structure. A separate maintenance garage building will also be installed on the pump station site, in addition to site work including grading, paving, fencing, gates, a stormwater collection system, and various appurtenances. The project includes installing a precast concrete bypass/diversion structure within an adjacent drainage channel and a 3-foot by 5-foot precast concrete box culvert to route stormwater to the wet well. The project also includes installing another precast concrete bypass/diversion structure within an upstream drainage channel and 30-inch diameter ductile iron gravity sewer piping and appurtenances to route stormwater to bypass the existing Hogan Park Pump Station at a separate site, during low level conditions for the Green River.
