The Contractor will be required to perform prep work, removal, installation and cleanup for Installation, Repair and Maintenance of Fencing defined in this ITB. The majority of the work will occur on the Interstate and State Route system. The Contractor shall supply labor, equipment, tools, means of transportation, traffic control, and incidentals to perform work in accordance to specifications, and to ensure a safe work environment for employees and the traveling public within the time schedule specified. The project limits are in Chatham County on SR 204. The project begins at MP 8.48 (Begining of R/W Mider at I-95 ramps) and ends MP 11.97 (approximately 310 ft east of Grove Point Drive center line). The project work includes removal of existing limited access fence, removal of any stumps, vegetation or debris in conflict with new fence, replace the existing fence with Woven Wire Field Fence. See below map for location of work. Fence will be installed in the existing fence locations or as directed by the Engineer. Existing fence maybe retain in locations were fence condition is good. The fence will exstend to the ends of limited access on side roads. Mile log 0.0 for SR 204 is at the Ogeechee River Bridge. Lane and ramp closures require a two week notice and must be approved by the Engineer. All stumps, trees and vegetation within 1 FT behind fence and 7 FT in front of fence shall be ground flush with adjacent ground to create smooth fence line where in conflict with fence installation.There may be trees that GDOT designates not to remove within the removal area. All hardwoods and invasive plants shall have herbicide application upon removal as needed for fence installation. Contractor must submit a bid bond or proposal guaranty for each bid submitted to the Department. Bid bonds or proposal guarantees not received by the Department before the due/close date and time will not be accepted and bid rejected.
