The Contractor shall remove, repair, or install a total of one hundred ninety-eight (198) regulatory waterway markers to post boating safety and manatee protection zones within the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) in Manatee County, Florida. There are 32 new markers (twenty-five 1-pile markers and seven 2-pile markers). There are 27 marker removals (including 23 buoys, three 1-pile markers and one 2-pile marker), 9 marker replacements (replacing eight 1-pile markers and one 2-pile marker), and 130 marker repairs (single or double sign replacements). Soil conditions may require drilling in some areas. Please see Waterway Marker Work Plan for complete repair and install quantities. Refer to the Technical Specifications for more details. This project encouraged MBE/WBE participation.
