It is the intent of these specifications to cover the work involved with routine mowing of County rights-of-way for the purpose of controlling growth on shoulders, ditches, back-slopes, and other grassed areas. It is recognized and understood that the prime purpose of grassed shoulders, ditches, and back-slopes is to control erosion, and secondly, to provide a stabilized recovery area. The Contractor is, therefore, responsible for proper procedures to assure the purpose of grassed recovery areas is not jeopardized by his activities. This project encouraged MBE/WBE participation.
