The County has six odor control mulch beds at County vacuum stations that require mulch media replacement. All removal and disposal of materials shall be in compliance with current Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Guidelines, as applicable.Contractor must take special care when removing the mulch because of the buried perforated pipes running through the mulch media beds and also to avoid damaging the fabric filter lining. Replacement mulch media mix will consist of equal portions of large, flat course wood chips (2”-3” size, ½” thick; free of foreign matter, uncontaminated) mixed with well composted yard waste or peat moss (Type “Y” FDOT), in accordance with Attachment 1.
