Permanent Edge Rut repair will be constructed adjacent to the existing pavement at the locations listed. Permanent Edge Rut repair will be constructed to a width of two (2) feet and a depth of six (6) inches by removing the existing material and replacing with 19mm asphalt. The remaining earthen shoulder shall be dressed to the newly placed asphalt insuring positive drainage away from the roadway while minimizing the disturbed width. The Contractor shall be responsible for obtaining all permits/approvals for storage/temporary storage/permanent storage sites for the excavated and waste material from this Project. A copy of all permits/approvals shall be submitted to the Department, prior to beginning any work. Excessive excavated soils may be disposed of at an approved disposal site off of GDOT Right-Of-Way (a permitted Solid Waste Facility, a permitted Inert Waste Landfill, or an Engineered Fill as per Section 201 of the Standard Specifications). All disturbed areas on the Project shall be properly grassed according to Section 700 and covered with Bonded Fiber Matrix (Wood Fiber Mulch I or II) on a daily basis. Temporary striping shall be placed at the end of each day and permanent Thermoplastic striping shall be placed within thirty (30) days. The cost of this work shall be included in the overall bid price. Contractor must submit a bid bond or proposal guaranty for each bid submitted to the Department. Bid bonds or proposal guarantees not received by the Department before the due/close date and time will not be accepted and bid rejected.
