The Contractor will be required to perform prep work, removal, installation and cleanup for Pavement Preservation and Maintenance Services defined in this ITB. The majority of the work will occur on the Interstate and State Route system. The Contractor shall supply labor, equipment, tools, means of transportation, traffic control, and incidentals to perform work in accordance to specifications, and to ensure a safe work environment for employees and the traveling public within the time schedule specified. This project consists of approximately 5.49 miles of asphalt overlay and striping on SR 25 in Camden County within the limits of the below mile log and attached exhibit. Cost for all work needed to complete the job will be included in the pay items listed in table 12. This includes any temporary work needed for staging of the work. Striping will be replaced as existing. Edge lines, stop bars, RPMs and other striping will be replaced if covered by overlay. Turnouts, flares, etc., are not included in the project (unless specifically called out in contract). Stop bar is rquired when turnouts are overlaid. RPMs are required on all new striping. All M.P. are measured from the state line. M.P. signs in place may not match ITB measured distances. Place leveling at the direction of the engineer. Overlay will match existing cross slope. Pavement Edge Treatment Asphalt per detail P-7 is required for the project. Driveways and radii will not be overlaid. Overlay will consist of 402-3814 – RECYCLED ASPH CONC 4.75 MM MIX, GP 1 OR 2, INCL BITUM MATL & H LIME at spread rate of 90 LBS/SY. Care shall be taken not to track tack on bridge/approaches. Tracking shall be corrected at no cost to the Department. All drainage structures within the limits of the project will be maintained throughout the duration of the project. Any debris that goes in drainage strctures as a result of the paving operation will be cleaned out at no additional cost to the Department. All lane closures are subject to approved traffic control plans. Temporary striping is required in accordance with section 150.04 of the Georgia Specifications. Placement of permanent pavement markings shall not begin until final surface course has been completed for fifteen (15) calendar days and shall be completed by project completion. Failure to place permanent pavement markings as specified will result in liquidated damages to be assessed in accordance with subsection 108.08 of the specifications. In preparation of the roadway prior to resurfacing, blade the existing shoulders no lower in elevation than the existing pavement or shoulder. Shoulder material displaced by the cleaning operation prior to resurfacing shall be removed and disposed of at an approved disposal site off D.O.T. right-of-way. The cost of this work shall be included in the overall bid price. All RPMs shall be removed prior to resurfacing of roadway. Contractor must submit a bid bond or proposal guaranty for each bid submitted to the Department. Bid bonds or proposal guarantees not received by the Department before the due/close date and time will not be accepted and bid rejected.
