he purpose of this project is to provide vegetation management at Purisima Creek Redwood Open Space Preserve. The scope of work shall include both manual and chemical methods for three target invasive species: Carex pendula (Hanging sedge), Ehrharta erecta (Panic veldt grass), and Delairea odorata (Cape ivy). Additional target species may be identified for treatment. Manual treatment methods include, but are not limited to, digging out the plants using shovels, pick-axes, or similar tools. Seed head removal from all plants with the use of loppers or hand clippers, and bagging of seed heads with off-site disposal are additional tasks. Vegetative matter (not viable seed) may be disposed of on site. Chemical treatments will consist of selective spot spraying using backpack sprayers. See attached. Bonds required. Prevailing wages apply.
