The goal of this Project is to convey treated effluent from the Bay Park Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) to the existing ocean outfall at the Cedar Creek Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP). This Project would require a force main to be constructed in three segments to connect the Bay Park STP and the Cedar Creek WPCP. One force main segment would be constructed by rehabilitating an approximately 8-mile-long portion of an existing, unused 72-inch aqueduct underneath Sunrise Highway and the other two force main segments would be new construction, approximately 2 miles and 1.5 miles in length with a diameter of 72 inches, and likely be constructed using micro-tunneling technology, which would require jacking and receiving shafts.
