Upson County is accepting Request for Proposals (RFP) for replacement of our Recreation Department Pool Bldg Roof. Scope of Work: Scarify existing foam roof, refoaming and coating of roof. Removal of skylights and repair of roof per specifications. Roof Repair: All blistered foam to be removed down to old roof. Cut on 45 degree angle at the perimeter of cuts. Cuts to be foamed in full, in successive layers approximately (1/2”) each with 2.7 to 3.0 pound density 45 # compressive polyurethane foam. The perimeter of the foam will be ground smooth Skylights: Flat pan of existing skylight will be covered with Type X gypsum board set in cold applied adhesive. Existing skylight will have a ½” diameter rebar installed centered in each of the flat pans of skylight and extend out on the deck 3”. Existing skylights and curbs will be removed and disposed. New 1/8” steel plate will then be placed over the opening and secured into existing tectum decking. The new metal will be wiped down to remove oil/contamination and primed with suitable primer to ensure maximum adhesion of polyurethane foam Scarifying Existing Roof. All roof surfaces will be scarified to remove coating and top layer of existing foam. Debris of foam will be disposed of off owner property. All silicone coating will be removed from back of parapets Foam Installation. All cants, curbs, pipes and projections will be foamed in at least 4” above roof to tie in to flashings and form a positive slope at all projections. Low areas of roof will be built up as much as practical to reduce ponding of water. When foregoing is complete, entire roof will be sprayed with 2.7 to 3.0 pound density, (2) component polyurethane foam with at 6.50R value per inch (K-factor 0.15). Foam to be manufactured by BASF Skytite or equal. Average thickness of foam will 1” (plus or minus ¼” tolerance) Coating System. At the completion of each day foam application, base coat of Progressive Materials or equal, will be applied at the rate of one gallon per 100 square feet. After base coat has cured, a coat of Progressive Material or equal will be applied at rate one gallon per 100 square feet. While coating is wet, a select aggregate will be broadcast into coating at the rate of 35 pounds per 100 square feet. Coating should be applied in contrasting colors
