This contract is for the removal of seven (7) Monterey pine trees in Remillard Park. The trees are located in the lower portion of Remillard Park behind 1071 Cragmont Avenue and on a slope across the street from 990 Regal Road. The trees are numbered 1-7 with white paint. The trees are infested with red turpentine beetles as evidenced by pitch tubes and boring particles. This species of beetle, Dendroctonus valens, weakens trees, thereby predisposing them to attacks by other beetles. The beetles also introduce a fungus into the trees that clogs the water transporting vessels. Bonds required.Prevailing wages.Q&A due by 04/25/19.
