Brunswick County is requesting qualifications to design and build a lab building at the 211 Water Treatment Plant (WTP) located at 4305 Southport-Supply Road SE, Southport, NC 28461, as a designbuild project (the “Project”) as more fully described in the Scope of Work attached hereto as Exhibit 1 and incorporated herein by reference. Any changes to the Scope of Work or specifications will be made in the form of an addendum to this Request for Qualifications and will be supplied to all potential designbuilders. The Brunswick County 211 Water Treatment Plant was constructed in 1974 and has been upgraded several times. The current building has reached the end of its serviceable life and needs replacement. The replacement building is expected to be no less than 1,100 square feet to be used for a water quality laboratory/plant operations center, office space, storage space, meeting/break room area, and restroom facilities. Brunswick County expects the new building to be constructed of metal with a wind rating of 150 mph or greater. This project encouraged MBE/WBE participation.
