The Storm Water Services Division of the Department of General Services is responsible for the operations and maintenance of qualifying storm drain systems within the Charlotte City limits. Tasks associated with this contract are related to structural engineering design services associated with the City drainage infrastructure construction projects. The City will issue Task Orders with details concerning the services to be provided by the Consultant. Each Task Order will identify key staff who will be assigned by the Consultant to work on the specific project identified in the Task Order and document the scope of services for that work. The work will not commence until a notice to proceed is granted by the City staff which includes approved fees for the associated services. Typical structural engineering projects may include but are not limited to the design of non-standard drainage structures; non-standard headwalls; junction boxes; inlets; manholes; endwall treatments; retaining walls; structural engineering review of shop drawings and evaluation of shoring for buildings and roadways and drainage structure standard drawings. The Consultant may be required to provide emergency services on short notice and within a tight time schedule. This project encouraged MBE/WBE participation.
