The Toombs County Board of Commissioners is seeking Request for Proposals for Right of Way Mowing & Maintenance of approximately 71.8 miles of road. All mowing shall be performed in accordance with this Special Provision and to the satisfaction of the Public Works Director. The Contractor shall not mow areas which have been delineated by mowing stakes to allow for the natural regeneration of vegetation, unless otherwise directed by the Public Works Director. Vegetation around roadside obstacles such as delineator posts, culvert headwalls, sign posts, mailboxes, and guardrails shall be trimmed by the Contractor by mechanical means so as to present a neat and attractive appearance. Excessive hand labor should not be included. Trimming shall be accomplished by tractor powered equipment. The trimming shall be as close to a roadside obstacle as possible. Trimming shall be done as incidental to the right-of-way mowing cycle. The height of mowing shall be six (6) inches maximum height for all mowing operations. This project encouraged MBE/WBE participation.
