The Town of Chilhowie is seeking bids from qualified contractors for the replacement of a roof at the facility commonly called the “Stage” at the Chilhowie Recreation Park. The Park is an approximately 30 acre facility bordered by Railroad Avenue on the north, the Middle Fork of the Holston River on the south, and McDonald’s and First Baptist Church on the west. The roof to be installed will be of a metal gauge 26 material with a 30 year titanium underlayment. The existing shingle roof will be removed and properly disposed of by the selected contractor. The roof is in two sections of approximately 30 feet by 50 feet. The contractor should bid on the existing roof removal and new replacement only. If damage is found on existing sheeting, that additional cost will be negotiated by the selected contractor and Town.
