The City of Waynesboro is soliciting proposals from qualified contractors to provide sidewalk replacement and construction services on a unit price basis for a 12 month period. The 12 month period will be established upon approval by the City Council. Projects will be assigned as developed through the Street Department to include sidewalk demolition and removal, sidewalk replacement, construction of new sidewalks, construction of new ADA accessible ramps, all required forming, finishing, back-fill and debris removal as necessary. The City will be responsible for tree removal if necessary. Prospective offerors may be required to demonstrate the ability to complete the project in the designated timeframe by listing available equipment, personnel and means of completing the project. The awarded contractor will be allowed 60 days to complete the project once awarded from date of the notice of award for each project. Liquidated damages of $500 per day will be assessed and subtracted from the final payment starting on the 61st day until the project is completed. Extensions to the completion deadline will NOT be allowed for inclement weather. All contractors must provide and utilize proper traffic control as required by the GDOT while working on state routes. Those providing a proposal must be able to describe the traffic control measures to be used on state routes and also on City streets. Traffic control will be the sole responsibility of the contractor.
