The Contractor will be required to perform prep work, removal, installation and cleanup for Drainage Rehabilitation, Repair, Replacement, & Miscellaneous Maintenance Services defined in this ITB. The majority of the work will occur on the Interstate and State Route system. The Contractor shall supply labor, equipment, tools, means of transportation, traffic control, and incidentals to perform work in accordance to specifications, and to ensure a safe work environment for employees and the traveling public within the time schedule specified. Work under this contract consists of replacing existing storm drain pipe on State Route 54 in Fayette County between Mile Post 5 to Mile Post 6 as per the attached plans and details with 48-inch concrete pipe. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, means of transportation, and incidentals necessary to perform work. The Contractor shall remove all trees and vegetation within 25 feet of the structure on the State Right of Way to allow access for work. Road repair after excavation shall adhere to the utility installation detail. Perform all construction in a manner to ensure positive drainage upon the completion of the project. The temporary 36-inch pipe H=10-15 may be any type as per the details in the plans. The contractor shall provide Drainage Structure Sketches as per section 149.1.C in the Standard Specifications. The removal and installation of temporary and/ or permanent stripes shall be included in the lump sum bid. After completion of the work and before the final stripes are installed, the contractor shall mill from station 101+00 to station 119+00 on the mainline, right turn lane, two side roads to the back of the radius, and the median left turn lanes and median crossover and inlay with 165 pounds per square yards of 12.5 mm asphalt. The total square yards of milled area are approximately 17,620.45 square yards. The approximate 12.5 mm asphalt quantities are 1,454.52 tons. These are additional quantities not included on the plans. The contractor shall restripe the right turn lane, mainline, and the two intersecting side roads with thermoplastic stripes to the back of the radius including stop bars. The Contractor is responsible for obtaining the exact measurements at each location. On-site inspection of facilities may be scheduled with Brian Johnston, District Contract Manager at 706- 646-7521. Contractor must submit a bid bond or proposal guaranty for each bid submitted to the Department. Bid bonds or proposal guarantees not received by the Department before the due/close date and time will not be accepted and bid rejected.
