The Contractor will be required to perform prep work, removal, installation and cleanup for Pavement Preservation and Maintenance Services defined in this ITB. The majority of the work will occur on the Interstate and State Route system. Work under this contract consists of sealing cracks from edge of pavement to edge of pavement including but not limited to, left and right turn lanes, passing lanes and center two-way left turn lanes. The project limits for this work is in Butts, Henry, Spalding, and Upson Counties. Contractor shall furnish all other labor, materials, equipment, and means of transportation, traffic control and incidentals necessary to perform work. This contract shall be bid Lump Sum. This work includes cleaning, removing dirt, grass, and other debris from cracks and asphalt joints, and filling with asphalt crack and joint seal Type S. All existing mainline traffic striping shall be restriped with 5” paint as per section 652 High Build paint traffic stripe and should be included as per line item. Traffic Striping shall be installed no later than 30 days after completion of each roadway. After the completion of the installation of Traffic Striping, Raised Pavement Markers shall be installed on the Center line as well as each passing lane or additional lanes. RPM’s shall be installed as per specification 654, and Construction Standard and Detail T15A and T15C. Contractor is not required to remove RPM’s. Contractor shall place new RPM’s next to existing RPM’s. All existing Traffic Striping shall not include arrows, stop bars, Letters, cross walks, hashed areas and symbols, but will include skip, single and double lane lines. No Temporary striping will be needed for this project. Contractor must submit a bid bond or proposal guaranty for each bid submitted to the Department. Bid bonds or proposal guarantees not received by the Department before the due/close date and time will not be accepted and bid rejected.
