This project consists of approximately 9.52 miles of micro surfacing and striping on SR 73 in Screven County within the limits of the below mile log. Place Micro-Surfacing Type II according to Standard Specification Section 428 at a rate of 25 #/sy. Cross slope will match existing roadway. Driveways and radii will not be overlaid. Striping will be replaced as existing and is included in the cost for Traffic Control . Edge lines, stop bars, RPMs and other striping will be replaced if covered by micro surfacing. Turnouts, flares, etc., are not included in the project (unless specifically called out in contract). Stop bar is required when turnouts are overlaid. RPMs are required on all new striping and are included in the cost for Traffic Control . All bridges require new striping/RPM even if included in paving exception. Temporary striping is required in accordance with section 150.04 of the Georgia Specifications. Final striping shall not commence until 30 calendar days after completion of Micro-Surfacing operations. Contractor and/or Subcontractor shall be responsible for all layout. The costs for layout shall be included in the overall bid price. All required testing shall be done by the Contractor and/or Subcontractor. The costs of testing shall be included in the overall bid price. All drainage structures within the limits of the project will be maintained throughout the duration of the project. Any debris that goes in drainage strctures as a result of the paving operation will be cleaned out at no additional cost to the Department. All lane closures are subject to approved traffic control plans. In preparation of the roadway prior to resurfacing, blade the existing shoulders no lower in elevation than the existing pavement or shoulder. Shoulder material displaced by the cleaning operation prior to resurfacing shall be removed and disposed of at an approved disposal site off D.O.T. right-of-way. The cost of this work shall be included in the overall bid price. All RPMs shall be removed prior to resurfacing of roadway. Contractor must submit a bid bond or proposal guaranty for each bid submitted to the Department. Bid bonds or proposal guarantees not received by the Department before the due/close date and time will not be accepted and bid rejected.
