This project consists of approximately 3.76 Shoulder Miles of Random Clearing and approximately 232 AC of Permanent Grassing on SR 405 in Chatham County from MP 91.15 (North stream bank of the Ogeechee River) to MP 97.52, (Southern limits of the I-16/I-95 Interchange Project), approximately 3,296 LF from the beginning of the NB off ramp to I-16. The random clearing will include the removal of all trees, brush, stumps and roots projecting through or appearing on the surface of the ground by cutting or grinding. Removal of roadside vegetation includes clearing to the fence line and any vegetation within the fence or to the existing right of way line, if there is on fence present. Removal shall be both horizontal and vertical, clearing away of any overhangs, as well. No grubbing or excavating operations are allowed. Also, there shall be no fill material brought into wetland areas or rutting from equipment. The project work also includes permanent and temporary grassing, per Georgia Standard Specification Section 700, Section 163 and below notes, for all disturbed areas within the project limits. Disturbance or removal of landscaped vegetation shall not be permitted. All labor, equipment and materials used for this project as shown in the plans and described in the Scope of Work to be Performed shall be included in the overall bid for the Job. Logging operations for marketable tlmber is permissible provided that the ground disturbance is minimal. Contractor must submit a bid bond or proposal guaranty for each bid submitted to the Department. Bid bonds or proposal guarantees not received by the Department before the due/close date and time will not be accepted and bid rejected.
