The City of Brookhaven is seeking a professional firm to development of a Regional Trails Master Plan in coordination with the I-285 Top End Express Lanes project and associated transit planning. A regional trail planning process will enhance the region’s multi-modal transportation and recreation system through analysis of the existing trail network surrounding the I-285 Top End Express Lanes project, identification of connections and conceptual alignments to augment the current network, and coordination of all adjacent communities for the development of a Regional Trails Master Plan. The network should review and prioritize direct connections for people living along the corridor to vital employment, retail, and recreational destinations – providing safety, economic development, mobility, environmental, and health benefits. The effort will be informed by the regional trail planning efforts of the Atlanta Regional Commission, the Perimeter Community Improvement Districts’ Last Mile Connectively Study, and the transportation and recreation plans of the seven cities and community improvement districts collaborating on a transit component to the I-285 Top End Express Lanes project.
