A summary of the scope for this contract includes, but is not limited to: 1. Coordinate, construct, and implement all signal designs at the appropriate time as directed by the City. Prior to placing traffic in a new pattern, all traffic signals shall be installed and operational. 2. Maintain, monitor, and adjust the signals, both vehicle and pedestrian, as needed throughout the project construction. 3. Implement any temporary signal designs. 4. Once responsibility for the traffic signals has been assumed, the Contractor is responsible for repair and maintenance of all equipment failures and malfunctions. The Contractor is required to begin these repairs within four hours of being notified with repairs completed within eight hours. 5. Throughout the project construction, the Contractor shall maintain full actuation, of the traffic signals located within the roadway construction project limits, unless allowed otherwise in writing. 6. Incorporate all traffic signals into the Winston-Salem Signal System. 7. All new final signal installations shall utilize galvanized metal strain poles for support. All temporary signal installations may utilize wood poles for signal supports. Unless noted otherwise. 8. Prior to final design and installation, coordinate all signal phasing recommendations with the City. 9. Upon placing these signals in operation (includes all temporary operations), install the required system communication equipment. This project encouraged MBE/WBE participation.
