The Wakefield Trail Improvement Project runs parallel to the Wakefield Plantation community, is 8 feet wide and is approximately 6,100 feet in length. Improvements will include removal of the existing asphalt trail and replacement with a new aggregate base course, asphalt surface course, and grading. The project is designed the full length of the existing Wakefield Trail, from Old Falls of Neuse Road (SR 2000) to London Bell Drive. This project encouraged MBE/WBE participation.
