Perform herbicide applications to control weeds along IID canals, drains, and right of ways within the IID Northern Region. This solicitation is being presented in two parts, Northern Region and Southern Region. Spray contractors may respond to one or both regions of this solicitation. Spray contractors responding to perform work for both regions must have enough labor, vehicles, equipment, and materials in order to be considered for both. Please be aware that separate and complete responses must be submitted for each region. IID intends that the calendar year of this contract shall commence October 1 and end September 30 of each year until the contract expires. The spray contractor will need to apply herbicides to control winter and summer annuals, terrestrial plants, and aquatic vegetation as recommended by the IID’s Agricultural Pest Control Adviser (PCA). The spray contractor must possess a current Pest Control Business License that must remain valid for the entire term of the contract. The spray contractor must register with the Imperial County Agricultural Commissioner’s Office annually. The spray contractor must employ at least one individual holding a California Department of Pesticide Regulation (CDPR) Qualified Applicator License (QAL) with Right-of-Way (category “C”) and Aquatic (category “F”) endorsements. The QAL must be employed and stationed in the local operational office within IID’s Imperial Unit so that they are involved in day-to-day spray operations. Individuals employed by the spray contractor who will be handling and/or applying pesticides/herbicides that do not possess either a QAL or QAC with Right-of-Way and Aquatic endorsements MUST be directly supervised by an employee holding a QAL or QAC. Additionally, those individuals employed by the spray contractor whom do not hold a QAL or QAC MUST receive annual pesticide safety training for pesticide handlers in accordance with all applicable CDPR laws and regulations. The spray contractor MUST possess all appropriate licenses, permits, and registrations required by county and state authorities to complete the terms of the contract. All must be in effect and valid during the entire contract term. The spray contractor must have a minimum of four (4) spray vehicles available for herbicide application during the entire contract period. See Scope of Services for detailed equipment requirements. The spray contractor will attend regular meetings for scheduling, planning, progress reviews and updates coordinated by the IID’s PCA. The spray contractor will be responsible for filing and submitting monthly pesticide use reports as required by CDPR and the Imperial County Agricultural Commissioner, as well as providing copies to the IID’s PCA. Q&A due by 07/23/19 at 5PM.The term of the proposedContract issued as a result of this solicitation will span 36months, October 1, 2019 to September 30, 2022. Must be bonded.
