Lee County Government (LCG) is seeking proposals for the purchase and installation of a point-to-point wireless bridge to connect two separate remote sites to our main data center building. We will be using existing building infrastructure, but the proposal should include cabling, grounding, lightning suppression, and any necessary mounting supplies. The main data center building is located at 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford NC. The two remote buildings we would like to connect wirelessly are at 1401 Elm Street Sanford, NC and 115 Chatham Street Sanford, NC. The connection between Hillcrest and Elm Street will require an intermediate connection using a City of Sanford, NC owned water tower at ~300 W. Spruce Street Sanford, NC. The distance between Hillcrest and Spruce St. is ~1.7 miles with clear line of site. The distance from 300 W. Spruce St. and 1401 Elm St. is ~.2 miles with clear line of site. Bidder agrees to abide by specifications laid out by City of Sanford, NC in attaching antenna equipment to the water tower. The connection from Hillcrest to Chatham will also require and intermediate connection via a County owned building at 225 S. Steele Street Sanford, NC. At this location there is already one mounted/in use Ubiquti Air Fiber AF-24 that connects this site to our main data center. The 115 Chatham street building is not owned by LCG but the owner of this building is willing to allow placement of an antenna/equipment. The distance from Hillcrest to Steele is ~.7 miles with clear line of site. The distance from Steele to Chatham is ~.2 miles with clear line of site. Any system installed should be robust enough to handle minor interference in the line of site. The system should not require any special licensing for frequencies, channels, or power levels, from any federal, state, or local agency. The system should be capable of at least 1.4Gbps combined throughput similar to the existing Air Fiber 24 point-to-point link we have in place today at 225 S. Steele Street. Ubiquiti is not being specified as the hardware we desire but it or something comparable is requested. The system should be capable of at least 128 bit encryption. This project encouraged MBE/WBE participation.
