The work consists of construction of a new 1,899-foot extension of Hook Drive from Nicole Lane to Orchard Lane, and associated improvements at the intersection of Rollins Road and Nicole Lane/Woodbine Drive. The traffic signal at the Rollins Road intersection will be replaced. Woodbine Drive will be widened for a left-turn lane at Rollins Road and resurfaced for 280 feet. Nicole Lane will be widened for left-turn lanes at Rollins Road and the Hook Drive Extension and a right-turn lane at Rollins Road. Nicole Lane will be resurfaced for 856 feet with an additional 2-inch overlay. The anticipated pavement section for the proposed Hook Drive extension is 12-inches of aggregate and 8-inches of asphalt. Sidewalk is proposed for both sides of the Hook Drive extension, on the east side of Nicole Lane from Hook Drive north to the project limits, and there will be ADA compliant sidewalk replacement at the Rollins Road intersection. Storm sewer construction will be needed on Hook Drive, Nicole Lane, and Woodbine Drive. There are two proposed detention basins along the Hook Drive extension. New water main is proposed for the entire length of the Hook Drive extension along its south side, and new sanitary sewer is proposed for almost the entire length of the Hook Drive extension along its north side. Additional watermain adjustments on Nicole Lane and Woodbine Drive may also be required. Landscape restoration is required throughout the project area. Lighting foundations and conduit will be installed along Hook Drive in advance of a separate lighting contract. The project also includes all other incidental and collateral work necessary to complete the project as shown on the plans and described herein. The project will construct an extension of MUN 1061 (Hook Drive) from Nicole Lane to Orchard Lane in the Village of Round Lake Beach, Lake County. The intersection of Rollins Road and Nicole Lane/Woodbine Drive will also be improved. The total gross and net lengths of the project are 3,035 feet (0.575 miles). Prevailing wages.
