The purpose of this Invitation for Bid (IFB) is for the Virginia Department of Energy / Abandoned Mined Land Repurposing Program to obtain sealed bids for reclamation/construction work on the Hurricane Fork Dam Removal Project. The Hurricane Fork Dam Removal project is located along Hurricane Fork approximately 1.3 miles east of the intersection of State Route 621 (Sandy Ridge Rd) and State Route 615 (Gravel Lick Rd), in Russell County, Virginia. GPS Coordinates for the approximate center of the project site are 36° 59.15’ N and 82° 10.97’ W. The Scope of Work shall consist of mobilization of the contractor’s workforce and equipment, construction site preparation, construction site layout surveys, installation of a project sign, installation and maintenance of erosion and sediment controls, coordination with electrical utility for relocation of overhead electrical power lines, installation/restoration of a stream channel, installation of a stream channel crossing, access road maintenance, construction of a wetland and riparian corridor, excavation and regrading, material handling and storage of excavated materials to and from designated disposal/borrow areas, structure demolition and removal, repair of an existing mine portal closure, revegetation and clean up and repair of damage to the project site.
