The City of Winston-Salem has determined that it is necessary to repair a segment of Lowery Street between the Salem Parkway access ramp east to Miami Avenue. This road was designed for residential uses and now serves industrial businesses. Lowery Street receives approximately 3,000 vehicles per day (2019 data) when open. The project will require the upgrading of Lowery Street to accommodate industrial traffic, surveying, roadway and shoulder repair, and pipe culvert repair or replacement. The selected consultant will propose improvement options for the City to evaluate. The scope of work will encompass gathering information on the subsurface conditions, surveying, erosion control plans, roadway and drainage design, acquiring necessary environmental permits, necessary utility conflict plans, and the preparation of construction specifications and cost estimates. The plans for the work listed above shall be prepared in an electronic format.
