Murphey Candler Park, 1551 W Nancy Creek Dr. NE @ the fishing dock pavilion in the parking lot at the east end of the dam.

The proposed Multiuse Trail on Dam project is located in Murphey Candler Park, on N. Nancy Creek Road NE, in Brookhaven, GA, and includes, but is not limited to, the following: • Picking up the LDP21-0007 from the City of Brookhaven Office. • Picking up the city Building Permit BLC 21-0005 and any other required permits. • Conforming to the requirements of the Georgia Safe Dams Act. • Construction Stakeout and field adjustment with Owner. • Traffic control plan and any required City permitting for access and staging along the roadway and in the parking lot. • Demolition of the existing lakeside sidewalk and protection of the DOT guardrail. • Protection of the water quality of Murphey Candler Lake. • Lowering the lake and maintaining the lower level during construction per SDP. • Coordination with the City of Brookhaven on the Spillway maintenance project. • Erosion Control along the face of the dam and along the lake edge. • Removal, storage, and reinstallation of rip rap on the dam for the silt fence and wall. • Excavation and grading of the wall footings along the dam. • Placing concrete footings and retaining walls. • Electrical conduit the length of the dam and out to each overlook for future use. • Structural backfill behind the walls on the dam. • Concrete sidewalks and turndown footing edges. • Wood with wire mesh guardrails around the overlook decks. • Protective wood railing along the lakeside of the sidewalk • Wood protective rail attached to the back of the existing DOT guardrail. • Benches and trash receptacles attached to the overlooks. • Replacing road signs that were temporarily removed. • Sealing all exposed concrete with specified sealant. • Replacement of matching rip rap over all exposed areas. • Project site cleanup and restoration of lake levels. • Cooperate and coordinate with any other city contractors who may be on site. • Alternate: Wooden deck surfacing on the overlooks.
