The work to be performed under this contract generally includes intersection improvements, new traffic signal installation and rail crossing improvements at 1st Avenue and Emery Street. Major construction items includes: removals, asphalt pavement construction, concrete curb/gutter and sidewalk, electrical and traffic signal installation, pavement markings and traffic control. BNSF Railway Co. (BNSF) will be performing the installation of railroad gates/flashers, bungalow and surface crossing material. The Contractor will be responsible for coordinating the work activities with BNSF. All safety requirements, including safety orientation, and agreements to work within BNSF property shall be completed by the Contractor prior to initiating any work within twenty–five (25) feet from the centerline of the nearest track. The Contractor will be responsible for supplying all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to complete the work in accordance with the project plans and specifications. The total quantities and type of work estimated in the Bid Schedule is representative of the estimated quantities; however, these quantities may be revised by the City to represent actual field conditions at the time of construction. This is a CDOT local agency project that includes federal funding. This project has a DBE goal of 10.5%. Bonds required. Prevailing wages apply. Federally Funded.
