The Amador Fire Safe Council (AFSC) has received a small grant from Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) to begin the establishment of a community fuel break titled the Ohio Hill Fuel Break. Work on this project much be completed no later than November 30th, 2022. The purpose of this Request for Proposal is to solicit proposals to hire a Fuels Reduction Contractor. Vegetation in the project area includes a scattered conifer and hardwood overstory with an understory of live oak and a brush component of manzanita, toyon, and chemise. The objective of the treatment is to reduce surface and ladder fuels in the establishment of a fuel reduction on 9 acres of land to protect private property from a wildfire conflagration. The general project areas have been delineated on the attached map. The project is within Amador County, California and located approximately 1 mile northeast of the City of Jackson. 9 Treatment acres. No prevailing wage requirements on this job.
