Bid Date: 09/29/2020 at 04:00PM

The City is looking for professional design services and requires support from an experienced and qualified engineering firm for the MBATS System Project. The purpose of the project is to build a fiber network in the City along main transportation corridors, and connect to the Los Angeles County fiber network hub near Grevillea Avenue at Artesia Boulevard, so that traffic signal timing and operations can be integrated into the broadband network. This is part of the South Bay Fiber Network Project by South Bay Cities Council of Governments (SBCCOG) as part of their Metro Highway Program. SBCCOG proposes to construct a fiber-optic broadband infrastructure to connect City Halls in the South Bay sub-region, which will support enhancements for mobility and accessibility systems, and networks that serve South Bay residents through services offered by municipalities. The brief introduction of South Bay Fiber Network Project with Metro Fiber Ring Diagram are included in Appendix E. More details of South Bay Fiber Network are presented as GIS interactive map system at SBCCOG’s website. The ITS design architecture must be consistent with Southern California Region of Government (SCAG) Regional ITS Architecture to satisfy FHWA Rule 940 requirements. This City project is funded by Metro and the agreement is attached as Appendix H. Q&A due by 09/15/20 at Noon.
