Notice is hereby given that Floyd County, Georgia proposes to let a Contract to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, upon sealed bids, for the furnishing of all labor, material, equipment and other things necessary for the construction of the: Runway 1/19 and Partial Parallel Taxiway Extension Grading & Drainage Package Richard B. Russell Regional Airport. The purpose of this project is to construct grading and drainage improvements for the proposed extension of Runway 1/19 covering approximately a 40-acre site. The overall scope of work consists primarily of the performance of clearing & grubbing (approx. 3 acres), excavation and embankment formation (approx. 150,000 cubic yards), installation of drainage improvements (approx. 2,900 linear feet), installation of chain-link perimeter fencing (approx. 3,000 linear feet), as well as installation and maintenance of various erosion control measures. Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Bond in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the base bid. All bonds must be signed or countersigned by a Georgia Resident Agent. A Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the bid, and a Labor Materials Payment Bond in the amount of not less than the amount of said Bid, one hundred percent (100%), shall be furnished by the successful bidders. This project encouraged MBE/WBE participation.
