The scope of services to be provided to the University of Florida includes the removal of identified asbestos containing materials using methods recognized as safe and in compliance with all applicable Federal and State regulations and University of Florida policies. The location of the work to be provided by the Contractor will typically include the University of Florida’s main campus and other University owned properties in the immediate surrounding area. On occasion, asbestos removal work may also be required at one of the University’s off campus research facilities located around the State of Florida. The size of each project will vary and all services shall be provided on an as needed basis. It is anticipated that at any given time, multiple removal projects will be required to run concurrently. Project examples can vary from remove and dispose of 24 LF of TSI; remove and dispose of 880 square feet of carpet, floor tiles and black mastic; remove and dispose of over 30,000 square feet of wallboard and associated framework. All asbestos removal activities must be performed in a manner that protects occupants of adjoining areas, both inside and outside of buildings, from exposures to asbestos and any other material used in the asbestos abatement process (e.g. encapsulants, chemical mastic removers, etc.).
