The City is requesting proposals from professional design service firms that have a qualified and experienced team to provide excellent design services for appropriate sidewalk mobility gaps. The design services entails new sidewalk with a minimum width of 6.5 feet based on the City of Manhattan Beach Standard Plan MBSI-112A (Appendix H and I) and approximately a maximum of 7 feet where allowed, one (1) commercial driveway (Appendix J), six (5) American with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant curb ramps, grading, retaining walls, relocation of fences, relocation of existing irrigation, tree removal, relocation of existing signage and business signage, relocation of utility pole guywires, adjustment of utility boxes and valve covers, etc., removal and replacement of curb and gutter, sidewalk culvert, and miscellaneous appurtenances and landscaping. The Project's scope of work is the installation of a missing segment of sidewalk on the west side of Aviation Boulevard, just north of 33rd St for a length of approximately 600 feet, including the installation of six (5) Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant curb ramps. The proposed 4 inches thick sidewalk construction will have a minimum width of 6.5 feet based on the City of Manhattan Beach Standard Plans MBSI-112A and approximately a maximum of 7 feet where allowed. The missing sidewalk is located adjacent to a Northrop Grumman Corporation office building and is near public transit stops operated by LADOT. DBE goals. Bonds required. Prevailing wages.
