New Construction: The City of Avondale is seeking Design-Build Services for a new commercial building to be built in The BLVD Park Avenue District. The project will consist of: 1)Design of two new 2 story shell commercial buildings up to 20,000 SF each; 2)Construction of one building including site improvements, which may include a police substation to be built within the first building; 3)And construction of approximately 750 LF of off-site street and utility improvements (including wet and dry utilities and city fiber) adjacent to site on N. Park Ave. and a portion of W. Fillmore Street (see exhibit). The proposed site for the commercial building is adjacent to the west side of N. Park Ave. as shown on exhibit. The commercial building will need to be constructed of high quality, durable materials and building systems to minimize operational, repair and replacement costs and will have an anticipated lifecycle of at least fifty years. Energy-efficient and sustainable concepts will need to be as required by code and as need to achieve utility rebates to the further the City’s Sustainability Plan within budget limitations. The City’s Municipal Art Committee’s Public Art Master Plan seeks to define Avondale as a unique sense of place and infrastructure (electrical, irrigation/plumbing) for Artwork as a standalone element in the site improvements to be considered during Design. If infrastructure constructed, actual Artwork will be funded separate from parking garage budget. Elements of The BLVD brand and unique to Avondale (separate from Artwork) to be incorporated into commercial building design. Site Investigation (including confirmation of as built utilities locations and conditions through potholing, video camera, etc.) must be completed by Design Builder during schematic design. Deadline for questions is October 25, 2021 .
