Collier County is planning the improvement and replacement of 11 bridges generally located on rural collectors in the northern part of Collier County between SR-29 and Hendry County. There are four bridges along CR-858/Oil Well Road, one bridge on CR-858/County Line Road and six bridges along CR-846/Immokalee Road. Oil Well Road and Immokalee Road are both east-west corridors within the project limits, while County Line Road is a north-south roadway connecting the two roads along the border with Hendry County. The typical section will be two 12-foot lanes with 8-foot shoulders; with the exception of Bridge No. 030136 that will require two 12-foot travel lanes with a 12-foot center turn lane, 8-foot shoulders and 6-foot sidewalks. The proposed construction of the replacement bridges will require shifting traffic to one lane, removing a portion of the existing superstructure and constructing a portion of the replacement bridge in its place. Then shifting the one lane traffic to the newly constructed portion, removing the remaining portion of the existing superstructure and substructure and constructing the remaining portion of the replacement bridge.
