The Douglasville – Douglas County Water & Sewer Authority (hereafter referred to as the “Authority”) is soliciting competitive sealed bids from qualified contractors for the performance of the Chicago Avenue Sewer Line Rehabilitation Project (the “Project”), as more fully described in the Invitation for Bids. The scope of work includes the provision by the Contractor of all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, and supplies necessary to complete the work. The Project will be “turn key” and require minimal involvement of Authority personnel. The work to be performed shall include pipe bursting of approximately 1,750 linear feet of 6-inch concrete pipe and installation of approximately 1,750 linear feet of 8-inch HDPE pipe grouted into the original manholes in Chicago Avenue, installation of one new doghouse manhole in Chicago Avenue, and removal/replacement of twenty two (22) taps and service laterals on the sewer line. All bids must be accompanied by adequate bid security (certified check, bid bond, or irrevocable letter of credit) drawn in favor of the Authority and in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid price, which shall be subject to forfeiture as liquidated damages in the event that the bid be accepted and the bidder fail to promptly enter into the proposed contract for performance of the Project with the Authority.
