Under this specification, the Contractor shall furnish all necessary equipment, labor, and materials to clean and redevelop the Howard Road and Nutting Road Wells, located in the Town of Westford, MA. The Howard Road site includes 6 (six) wells and the Nutting Road site includes 2 (two) wells. Cleaning and redevelopment shall include: Mobilization, installation, removal, and demobilization of all equipment for the well cleaning performance; Performance of a pre and post cleaning pump and well test to obtain specific capacity and pump performance data; Removal, disassembly, and cleaning of the existing pump equipment and motor for visual inspection by Westford Water Department along with refurbishing recommendations and cost quotations; Remote camera inspection of the well, including well screen, prior to and following redevelopment. Chemical and mechanical cleaning and rehabilitation of the well; Neutralization and disposal of chemicals used in the cleaning process; Reinstallation of the pump equipment and motor after work has been satisfactorily completed; Erosion control, miscellaneous work and cleanup; Report of all pertinent well data, including work done, repair parts, and redevelopment results, to be furnished to the Westford Water Department at the completion of redevelopment. If the initial treatment does not achieve the desired improvement, the Contractor shall request approval of the Owner before undertaking a second treatment. Additional surging of the wells beyond the 180 hours shall be provided as required on an hourly rate basis. The lump sum price shall include a minimum number of 180 hours of equipment time necessary for the treatment of 6 wells at the Howard Road site and 2 wells at the Nutting Road site. If less than the minimum time is required, that time shall be deducted from the lump sum price at the hourly rate quoted for additional work. Deadline for questions is January 27, 2022 by 8:00am.
