Work to be Done consists in general of the following items: Modernization and upgrading of two (2) public elevators, hoist ways, controls, car enclosure / operating equipment, corridor elevator control upgrades, machine room equipment and all associated elevator and fire accessories as indicated on the bid set drawings and specifications. The successful Contractor / shall submit to the State a “Letter of Intent to Alter” with State of California, Department of Industrial Relations Division of Occupational Safety and Health - Elevator, Ride, and Tramway Unit (State) identifying the items to be replaced. After which, the Contractor shall issue the to the State local office. The Contractor shall will hire, if need be, a licensed C-10 Electrical Contractor as their sub-Contractor to obtain required permitting, inspection, and approval of work. The Contractor shall will hire, if need be, a licensed C-16 Fire Protection Contractor as their sub-Contractor to obtain required permitting, including preparation plans and/or submittals, inspection, and approval of work. It is appropriate for C11-Elevator contractors to self-perform electrical work that is associated with an elevator. If the electrical work and fire protection sprinkler head are incidental to the elevator modernization project, it is appropriate for the C11 prime contractor to self-perform the work or subcontract it out to the appropriate subcontractor. One elevator shall remain in service at all times. Contract shall not exceed 225 calendar days in duration. Bonds required. Prevailing wages apply.
